WE DO NOT HAVE ANY RESTROOMS AVAILABLE! Prepare for your trip here by considering that. If you already have to go before leave or get here, stop at the Maverick 1 block north of us.\u00a0 We are a battery store only. The closest bathrooms are at the Maverick station about 1\u00bd blocks north on Kietzke Lane. If you need one, please stop there first.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

If you have less than $43 you may end up leaving without a battery<\/span>. Don’t depend on your dead battery trades or our charity to make up the difference. Often people overestimate the value of their dead batteries – we only pay between $5 and $12 each and we make an offer on what the battery is worth to us, not to anyone else or by weight, or what someone else says it is worth.<\/p>\n

Due to the economy, we have been in shortage of our cheapest $43 batteries ($35 with your dead battery) for the last 6 months.<\/span> Our reconditioned battery business operates more like a bakery than a warehouse (the batteries come out in the morning and are usually gone near the end of the day). Lately, we usually have less than a dozen (of the $35 batteries) after 1pm. Our prices are some of the lowest if not the lowest in town – they are already discounted for everyone. No special exceptions or additional discounts for anyone. If you show up late in the afternoon with less than $50 in spendable money, we may not have anything for you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

BE AWARE! We are only a battery store. Not Auto Repair, not Auto Parts, not a Diagnostic center. If your car has other issues besides the battery that affect whether it starts or not (bad starter, bad alternator, plugged fuel filter, empty gas tank, key ignition, Blow interlock device, alarm\/other electronic problems, etc.) choosing to come here first for a battery may leave you stranded here and having to call a tow truck.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

We carry reconditioned and new batteries, buy dead or weak lead-acid car batteries, and also have a short selection of new and used motorcycle batteries.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re an Interstate Battery dealer<\/strong> \u2014 Interstate (PowerVolt) batteries start as low as $85 new. We also offer our own house-brand new batteries starting at $90.<\/p>\n

We buy standard automotive lead-acid batteries and pay $5 to $12 cash each,<\/strong> depending on age and condition. Please don’t call and ask us to estimate how much we can pay for your batteries. $5 to 12$ each is the range. If it’s older than 5 years, it’s $5, even if it was never used. Like meat, batteries go bad just sitting around for too long. If it’s newer than 2 years and viable, it’s $12. Viable means that we have determined it will probably work in our process, again nothing you can determine for us, we have to do it. If it has physical damage that’s unrepairable by us it’s $5.\u00a0 Anything else, we will probably need to see.<\/p>\n

There is no Cart Service.<\/strong> Batteries are carried by hand. The parking lot in the front is on a steep incline and opens immediately onto high-traffic 4 lane road with traffic at between 40MPH and 100MPH. The likelihood that a cart will run away with 200lbs of batteries on it and cause mayhem in the street is too high to risk. We will assist in hand carrying of the batteries if we are available. There is parking in the back that is flat and larger and we can visit you back there when we can leave the front.<\/span><\/p>\n

NO Lithium (LiFePO) batteries cost money to dispose of<\/strong> so we will not be paying any money for those nor will we handle the disposal as it would actually cost us money.<\/p>\n

Important: If we detect theft, switched or false labels, are told false stories about the battery\u2019s history or condition, or any other deception\/cover-up, we will not do business with you. Do honest business with us and we will do the same.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you arrive, please leave your batteries in your vehicle (or keep them with you) until you are being helped<\/strong> and approved to bring them in. Piling them on the sidewalk creates congestion is dangerous and can be extra work for you \u2014 especially if we are unable to do business and you have to load them back up again.<\/p>\n

Do not assume we can or will install your battery<\/strong>. The price for our batteries do not include this service. If you\u2019re not able to do it yourself (or bring someone who can, or take the battery back home and do it), you are welcome to buy the battery here, but you may need to take your vehicle to a full auto shop for installation (some are literally right around the corner from here).<\/p>\n

We do have a small collection of tools we can loan you (they must stay here can not leave the premises), and we may assist when we\u2019re not busy with battery sales. A few years ago we offered installation for $10, but we had to discontinue guaranteed installation service because many vehicles had additional issues involving parts we neither carry nor can install. A proper battery change often takes about 30 minutes \u2014 time in which we could sell many more batteries or serve other customers. Even if you think it’s a 5 minute job, it might be, until you drop a tool in the engine compartment! Most people come to us specifically to save money (often expecting a battery as low as $35). Adding the real cost of installation would raise that significantly. There are two shops within \u00bc mile that will install batteries for between $20 and $40 on average, but some, deservingly, cost more.<\/p>\n

Due to recent surge in theft and fraud, we now keep the store locked down.<\/strong> We only allow one customer per technician at a time in the store. This lets us give you our full attention when it is your turn and keeps transactions faster and smoother with less errors. Our customer area is small and gets loud real fast, and waiting customers tend to interrupt us with questions or talk loud on their phones inside or their children and pets are running around in dangerous areas.<\/p>\n

Thus, when you arrive, the door will be locked and there is no handle to pull on. Ring the doorbell, then pay attention, if you see other people in the store then be patient, if there are others waiting a head of you then place yourself in line.
\nIf we\u2019re outside looking at a vehicle, there will be no one available to help anyone at that moment anyway.<\/p>\n

On regular days, we close at 5:30 PM or 3:30 PM sharp \u2014 the door is locked and no one is available after that. Please try to arrive by 5:15 PM or 3:15PM at the latest.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re in a desperate situation and can\u2019t make it before we close, but end up here after we’ve closed and gone, don’t turn off your car and don’t hang around and beat on door, no one will be here to help. Immediately go to the nearest of these options which are:
\n\u2022 Walmart (about \u00bc mile east on Second Street) \u2014 has batteries, restrooms, food, auto parts, tools, jump boxes\/cables, etc.

Please don\u2019t strand yourself in our parking lot after hours \u2014 it can become a difficult and dangerous situation for you at nighttime.<\/p>\n
